The Beginning
In the beginning there was nothing. Then money was created. Those that had resources and understood arbitrage opportunities created the concept of "workers". A whole bunch of things happened in between. An instution called university created by smart fellows understanding demand and supply started. More graduates of high school meant the need to differentiate.
Companies needed "workers". They wanted the best. How to separate everyone? It is impossible! Applicants coming to "tailored" websites found them to be prettily designed but not very easy to find information. Students alarmed. Students... need to do work to find job? Proposterous.
Introduce possibilities. Information that students need are hidden. Sifting through chunks of information still existed. Ideas twirled.

pathfolios needs time to think how it became to be. Historians are mulling over the source documents. Oceanographers are swimming, birds are still chirping; there is no cause to be alarmed.

The moment applications opened and writing resumes and cover letters became an inevitability students had a small pool of applications to do. There were the established companies and the application was simple. Then the "internet" began adding layers and layers of bureacracy for students. Simpler for employers who can aggregated data just by setting up the questions. Now, students fight back to make it easier again. The battle rages. You want talented students working for you?
